Vehicle History:
Project Evilbass started in March of 2002 when the car was scheduled to
have a major upgrade in the stereo system. The primary goal of the car
was to be able to compete, and succeed in Sound Quality for IASCA. The
car arrived at Audio Logic in Hollywood, Florida where Chad V. Romano
and the Crew from A.L. started their work. The final product was a full
custom install consisting of Kicker Car Audio components, Kicker
Equalizers, Clarion Multimedia and sound processing and all highlighted
with the new line of Kicker wires and accessories. The installation was
completed with a slue of LiteGlow accessories to help highlight areas of
the install.
The next area of concern was the Exterior of the car. Chad brought the
Neon to Tuner Solutions in Hollywood, Florida where they would plan an
all out assault on the South Florida car show competitors. Being the
third major project to come out of Tuner Solutions, Jamie and Chad knew
they had to come out with something intense enough to win shows with out
a question. They began planning with a ground effects kit supplied by
Razzi Ground Effects in Alpharetta, Georgia. The next phone call went to
Xtreme Dimensions in California for a OEM style Carbon Fiber hood and a
full set of custom one-off pieces to help bring the Neon's Exterior to
life. Following the carbon fiber, Chad put a call out to B.A.D. in
Oklahoma for a set of billet pieces, which included a custom billet show
license plate. The next order of business was the paint. Jamie put out a
call to Dupont and House of Colors for a nice schematic of color and
pearl. Black on Silver with a touch of class, Dupont Black base with
Dupont PS2 Silver and a nice touch of House of Kolor Platinum Ice Pearl
just to make it sexy.
The next step was the lay the two-tone graphics, which took about 4
hours. The rest was history.
Next on the list of mods were Rims and Tires; Chad visited his friends
at Arospeed for a large set of 18 inch Arospeed Express Hyper Black
rims. Rapped in a set of BFGoodrich G-Force T/A KDW 215/35R18 tires,
compliments of Richard Winchester and Monique LeCroy @ BFGoodrich. Back
at the shop, Jamie was finishing up the installation of the Diamond
slotted and cross-faded rotor by SP Performance Rotors, and a coat of
paint on the rear drums and front calipers. Next a set of Drop Zone 1.5"
springs where added to bring the neon closer to the ground and to
complete the exteriors look.
Back at THD Designs, Chad began installing the small engine mods, which
include an AEM Cold Air Intake, Arospeed Hyper-Grounding System,
Arospeed 12-Volt Charging System, Mopar's High Performance 7.5mm spark
plug wires and Magnaflow exhaust. After competition of the engine work,
Chad began the installation of LiteGlow's 7-color LED Underbody kit and
a set of LiteGlow White Underbody kit, also paired with a LiteGlow
90watt 6-bulb Strobe kit.
The interior is currently in the works, however, it has not been
completed. Tuner Solutions and THD Designs are working together to get
the door panels and center console pieces painted and ready for the 2005
Hot Import Nights in Miami, Florida. Along with the work, Plexi-glass
will be added to help highlight some more of the audio equipment
including the two Kicker KQ30's being moved to the roof of the car with
the Kicker KX2 X-over and the Clarion/Sirius Satellite brain. LiteGlow
EVILEYES LEDs are being placed in various location throughout the car to
help bring more highlights to the interior.
